STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: To discuss a number of issues being faced by common people, Chander Parkash Sharma, President Consumer Welfare Association (CWA) Jammu, held a virtual meeting of its members. During the meeting, a number of problems and suggestions were listed and it was decided to take the matter with concerned authorities for immediate redressal.The major issues highlighted during the meeting included irrational rates charged by pathological labs for various tests, weight of school bags of students to be regulated as per directions of Government of India, unscheduled power cuts to be avoided as supply lines are substandard and can’t cater to present need. It was also suggested to take proactive measures for avoiding such situations besides commissioning Receiving Stations well before summer, identification of black sheep in department etcThe members also demanded simplification of issuance of Ayushman Bharat cards, so that everyone can get card as soon as possible to avail benefits of Prime Minister Health Insurance Scheme. They also asked for holding periodic meetings regarding rates fixation committee by Director FCS&CA Jammu with stakeholders and officials of Consumer Welfare Association Jammu. The CWA members further suggested that Div Com Jammu should convene meeting with various heads of departments and stakeholders, office bearers of CWA to get inputs from general public and issue directions for resolving the highlighted issues at the earliest. The CWA Jammu members also urged Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to provide some relief to residents of J&K UT at the earliest by issuing time bound directions to concerned authorities for resolving the issues.The members who attended the meeting included S K Gupta Patron, Rajinder Parshad Kakkar Vice President, Bansi Lal Cherwoo, Prem Gupta, J K Khajuria and Rama Anand.
