JAMMU: Former Minister and Vice President JKPCC Raman Bhalla, former Minister and General Secretary Yogesh Sawhney, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, General Secretary Thakur Manmohan Singh, Sr. Vice President DCC Dr. Rama Kant Khajuria and Ex-Corporator Uttam Singh and Jatin Vashist on Friday visited the residence of Rakeh Pandit, at Roopnagar Jammu, who was assassinated by the terrorists in Tral area of Kashmir on Wednesday late night and shared the grief and shock of the family members.
Senior Congress leaders met the family members and relatives of the slain KP leader who was President of MC Tral and was killed by the terrorists a day before in Tral area of Pulwama, Kashmir and expressed deep shock and anguish over the brutal killing and conveyed heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the family and relatives, on behalf of entire rank and file of the party.
They said that martyrdom of Rakesh Pandit shall not go waste and the brave jawans would identify his killers and eliminate them at the earliest, they hoped.
The Congress leaders extended full support and sympathies to the family and supported the demand for adequate ex-gratia relief and employment to the next of kins of the martyr, at the earliest, as his father too expired only two weeks ago.
They regretted that the killings of innocents and minorities are very shocking and needed to be stopped at all costs.
Such senseless killings won’t serve any purpose of the killers and their mentors and those wielding guns would be eliminated by our brave forces, sooner or later but they are committing great sin by such cowardly acts and killings of innocent people, they said adding that these forces shall never succeed in their designs and the entire nation is together and behind the innocent citizens and their right to live in peace and harmony anywhere in the country.
Later talking to media persons JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma raised serious questions on behalf of the party to the Home Ministry of the country to answer to the nation for the repeated killings of political activists especially the minorities and elected representatives in Kashmir.
JK UT is now directly under Home Ministry and the Home Minister Amit Shah should make a statement to the nation on this serious issue, and reassure the peaceful citizens specially minorities of their safety and security, he said adding that any killing of innocent is a great loss and shock to the nation, especially when the UT is directly under Home Ministry for law and order.
How such important political activists and representatives of PRIs become victim to the designs of terrorists, now, is questionable, said Sharma, adding the Congress party stands shoulder to shoulder with the security forces and the nationalist citizens to defeat the designs of terrorist and their mentors.
