JAMMU: Senior functionaries of JK Congress of Jammu region held a marathon meet to discuss the issues to be put forth before the Delimitation Commission regarding the delimitation of assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies, based on equity and justice as per norms and settled procedures for the same. The meeting was attended by Vice Presidents, General Secretaries, former ministers and legislators including Mula Ram, Raman Bhalla, Kanta Bhan, all vice Presidents, Chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Th Balwan Singh, Yogesh Sawhney, Abdul Majid Wani, Shah Mohammad Chowdhury, Manmohan Singh, Rajnish Sharma Co-Treasurer, Shabir Ahmad Khan Ex minister and others.The meeting held here discussed in detail the issues pertaining to the delimitation and the aspirations as well as the genuine demands of different areas and sections of the society of Jammu region.The meeting also discussed the various inputs from different parts and districts and other issues to be put forth before the commission regarding the transparency of the entire exercise.The meeting also discussed that at dist levels , delegations of district units shall represent the local aspirations and brief the commission about the local geographical and connectivity situation in respective districts. The meeting also decided to raise the issues of taking into account the existing population as considering ten years old population based on 2011 census is not justice besides raising issues of different sections which are not adequately represented and the weaker sections, displaced people from PoJK and others.The meeting also decided to urge the commission to visit the different districts and constituencies for better understanding of the local geographical situations, connectivity, contiguity and the aspirations of the people and give them ample opportunity to express their views.
