JAMMU: Extending full support to issues raised by power department employees and terming privatisation of power sector against interests of common man especially poor people, Congress has demanded immediate rollback of the proposal regarding privatisation of power sector.
Criticizing Government over total blackout in most parts of J&K thereby causing great hardships to general public besides disrupting water-supply, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma said that the Govt’s adamant behaviour to go ahead with its ill-designed anti-consumer and anti-employees moves resulted into avoidable deadlock in talks, forcing employees to go on strike. The party said that Govt should shun its anti-employees attitude and revisit pro-corporate decisions besides holding meaningful dialogue with employees unions immediately.
“People are suffering due to the power blackout in the harsh winters and it is responsibility of the Govt to provide regular power and water supply to people,” the Chief Spokesperson asserted.
