JAMMU: Criticising the BJP-led government at the Centre for rising unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir, senior congress leader and Vice President of District Congress Committee of Jammu Urban, Raj Kumar Goyal on Friday demanded a mega job package for the youth in the union territory.“The BJP has failed miserably to fulfill its hollow and false assurances of providing over 50,000 jobs. It is such a shame that instead of bringing out a policy to tackle unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir, the Centre has pushed anti-youth recruitment policies and norms,” stated Goyal. The increased graph of unemployment was always there in Jammu and Kashmir and the last hit was the Coronavirus pandemic, he added.“Due to the coronavirus pandemic, lakhs of youth of Jammu and Kashmir working in other parts of the country have already lost their jobs and returned to their homes, further adding to the unemployment in the UT,” he said.“The Central Government should announce a mega job package for the youth so that they can get a sigh of relief. To start with, it must fill all vacant posts in all government departments of the union territory,” he added.“It is regretful that instead of working for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the government has pushed the new faulty domicile law, and not fulfilled the demands for revocation of SRO 202. The youth has been kept away from 4G mobile internet services while the government is burdening people of Jammu region with toll plazas,” Goyal said while lashing out at the local BJP leaders for their failure to raise the public issues. The local leaders have only been indulged in showering praises on the Central government but never raise the plight of the youth, Goyal noted.
