JAMMU: Extending support to non-violent and peaceful struggle of lakhs of farmers, sleeping under open sky in chill of winter on Delhi Borders for a month and half, various social organisations, civil society groups and farmers of J&K have demanded immediate repeal of anti-farmer laws. They also decided to take out a tractor rally on January 17, 2021 to show their support to protesting farmers.
“To express solidarity and support to farmers and agriculture workers of India, we, the people of J&K, have decided to organise a peaceful tractor rally on January 17, 2021 (Sunday), which will start from Bana Singh Stadium R S Pura at 9:00 AM and shall pass from Satwari Chowk, Kunjwani Chowk via Byepass and culminate near Ambedkar Chowk, where a memorandum on behalf of people of Jammu & Kashmir will be submitted to Prime Minister through Div Com Jammu,” Civil society members told reporters here on Friday. He condemned strident campaign to discredit and label peaceful farmers as Anti Nationals by a section of ruling persons and unfortunately they are trivializing the peaceful disciplined struggle of farmers.
“We on behalf of people of J&K hail the Supreme Court’s decision for putting on hold the implementation of three controversial anti-Farmer Laws.
We justify and endorse stand of farmers on composition of members of SC panel being anti-Farmer. We appeal to Govt of India to immediately repeal these controversial laws,” they said.
