STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: Citizen’s Forum has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release Rs 3,000 crore, for development of Jammu tourism, as promised by him during his visit in May 2018 at Samba. In a press statement issued here, R K Chadha, President Citizen’s Forum said that a plan for village tourism in Jammu was also announced in that rally by the Prime Minister, but it is sad to say that we have received just Rs 1.60 lakh, for development of Jammu tourism till date.Chadha further said that scams and corruptions are always done here by successive Governments and the need of the hour is to rectify the same by existing Government. “Jammu Tawi Lake project was left half-way because of same reasons and still it has not been revived even after completion of 80 per cent work. Gujarat Sabarmati Front type plan was approved by Prime Minister to be created here but it seems Jammu people have to wait for decades for completion of prestigious project. What to talk of Tawi river project, Jammu Tourism department was unable to create a small Barrage on Jhajjar Kotli rivulet for creating a beautiful lake to attract pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi in last 12 years,” he asserted.
