Citizen’s Forum seeks extra loan to meet COVID challenge

JAMMU: Citizen’s Forum has urged LG to raise extra loans in J&K for meeting new COVID challenge. In a press statement issued here on Friday, R K Chadha President Citizen’s Forum said that a spike in COVID cases is being witnessed in J&K. “People who have not been vaccinated till date may suffer an onslaught of COVID like other states in the country. Once again the business of middle and poor class is going to suffer without any help from any quarter. RBI Governor has categorically announced that there will be no loan moratorium. We remember how small business suffered in hands of Bank Managers in giving 10-20 per cent loans to run their household during pandemic lockdowns,” he added.
The Forum President further said, “We don’t doubt integrity and capacity of the UT administration to face the pandemic but it needs adequate financial resources to meet challenges.
We request UT administration to raise extra loan like other states to meet this draconian challenge to save lives and livelihood of people.”
