Poonch: National Development Foundation in collaboration with Mission Director, ICPS and with the support of the European Union, organised a capacity building programme for children groups of Poonch on Juvenile Justice Act, integrated child protection scheme and child rights.Rajiv Khajuria Former Member SCOC, J&K Govt. and Founder Emeritus National Development Foundation, Sh. Anwar Hussain Shah, Chairperson CWC Poonch, Kirpal Singh , Member CWC Poonch and Mr. Sunny Kumar, Manager NDF interacted with the Children and sanitized them on the subject of the training . Around 102 children group members from ten villages of Poonch i.e. Karmara, Khanter, Ajote, Jhullas, Dara Dullian, Magnar, Kunuyian, Kasollian, Nagali and Kerni participated in the Capacity Building Programme.Rajiv Khajuria in his address called upon the children group members to follow COVID-19 precautions , like wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and washing hands regularly with soap. He also spoke in length about child rights Juvenile justice Act and ICPS Scheme. He stressed upon the need of child friendly villages where all parents, homes and schools are child friendly. Khajuria asked the children groups members to act as ambassador’s of child rights and report all cases of child abuse, exploitation, neglect and discrimination to CPC, CWC and childline. He appealed Children to call 1098 in case they find any child in need of care and protection. Children group members raised many queries which were addressed by the CWC and the resource persons.
