JAMMU: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has presented charge-sheet against two accused, including a Girdawar, for tampering revenue records.As per official spokesperson of ACB, chargesheet was produced against accused persons namely Mohd Farooq, the then Patwari Halqa Dudu-Basantgarh (now Girdawar), son of Late Mohd Sadiq, resident of Kadwah, Teshil Basantgarh, District Udhampur and Mohd Javed, son of Late Mohd Amin, resident of Dudu, District Udhampur (beneficiary) before the Court of Addl. District & Session Judge, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Udhampur in a case registered vide FIR No. 03/2016 under Section 5(1) (d) read with Section 5(2) of J&K PC Act and Sections 467, 468, 471 & 120-B of RPC registered against them at Police Station ACB.Giving further details, the official said that instant case was registered on basis of an enquiry conducted by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Basantgarh into allegations for tampering with revenue record pertaining to Khasra No 76 (land measuring 02 Kanals 18 Marlas) in village Dudu which revealed that Mohd Farooq, the then Patwari Halqa Dudu-Basantgarh, by abusing his official position hatched a criminal conspiracy with Mohd Javed (beneficiary) and made false/fictitious entry of Girdawari to favour the beneficiary. During verification, it was revealed that Mohd Javed, with an intention to grab the land of his sister, namely Asmat Begum, entered into a criminal conspiracy with Mohd Farooq, the then Patwari Halqa Dudu-Basantgarh and got made illegal entries of Girdwari in revenue record by tampering, to register his claim on the land. The then Patwari Halqa Dudu Basantgarh, Mohd Farooq despite having knowledge that land belongs to Asmat Begum and is under her cultivation, by abusing his official position, made wrong entry into Girdwari Register during Girdwari (Rabbi) 2005 for 4 Kanals 8 Marlas at Khasra No 76 (min) mentioning that it was a self-cultivated piece of land (Khud Kasht) through Mohd Javed by manipulating the records, thus conferred wrongful gain to beneficiary and deprived actual owner of her rightful claim. The case was charge-sheeted in the Court of law after obtaining Govt. sanction from the competent authority, he said, adding that next date of hearing has been fixed for April 23, 2021.
