JAMMU: Madan Lal Chalotra, OBC State Coordinator, Apni Party on Thursday urged Jammu Municipal Corporation to release the pending salary of all the Safaikaramcharis.Extending his support to the Safaikaramcharis, Chalotra said the salary of several months is pending which should be released without further delay by the JMC authorities.He said that these Safaikaramcharis should be given at par with the Union Territories of the country i.e., Rs 18, 500 per month.He expressed his surprise that the Safaikaramcharis are being given Rs 6000 per month which is an insufficient amount and there is dire need to enhance the monthly wages.Chalotra said that these Safaikaramcharis have been working in the Corporation for the last several decades and they still await their regularization.“We have come to know that JMC has not released the salary of Safaikaramcharis who took part in the protest in support of their demands. Such Safaikaramcharis have been marked absent from the work,” he alleged and demanded that the salary of all the Safaikaramcharis should be released.Recently, Madan Lal Chalotra alongwith Rupali Rani, senior leader women wing had also participated in the protest demonstration of Safaikaramcharis of Jammu Municipal Corporation.
