Chairman PHSC calls for taking challenge of improving sanitation head-on



JAMMU: As the sanitation holds the key to sustainable development of any city, taking challenge of making Jammu clean, green and serene head-on is the need of the time and all the stakeholders including JMC should not waste even a second in starting the work in this direction.
This was stated by Narinder Singh, Chairman Public Health Sanitation Committee (PHSC) of Jammu Municipal Corporation while chairing the monthly meeting of the Committee.
Narinder Singh emphasized on improving the sanitation of the city by involving general public and mobilizing all the resources. He made it clear that without cooperation of people the aim of clean and green Jammu City cannot be achieved. He said that spreading awareness on maintaining cleanliness and stopping people from littering hold much significance and therefore NGOs and other public oriented organizations should be roped in to meet the challenge of making Jammu City cleanest of all.
The Chairman Public Health Sanitation Committee said that if the people will be convinced to stop littering half the battle against monstrous garbage dumps will be won and the rest can be taken care of by the stakeholders including SPHC members and the JMC staff. The meeting was attended by SPHC members and officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation.
