KATHUA: Former Minister & President DCC Kathua Dr Manohar Lal Sharma on Sunday while protesting against rising prices of petrol , diesel, LPG at Dhannipyt of Kathua stated that the steep increase in petrol, diesel and gas prices was unprecedented and inhumane. “The Central government is exploiting common people by a continuous increase in excise taxes. It is a matter of great shame that the Central government is extracting ?32.98 and ?31.93 of excise taxes on every litre of petrol and diesel respectively. Further he said that common people are badly hit by inflation. Petrol and diesel prices are increasing continuously despite the low prices of crude oil in the international market,” Petrol and diesel prices on Monday were hiked for the seventh day in a row as a rally in international oil prices took retail rates in India to new highs. The cooking gas cylinder prices have increased by ?75 within the last 14 days. It is a “pity” for the Modi government that a new record is being set in the prices of petrol and diesel.Further he said “The steepest fuel price hike will have cascading effects on other essential commodities effecting people already suffering from the exhaustive policies of the NDA government. In last “We demand that the increased prices should be withdrawn with immediate effect and the increase in excise duty should be rolled back to provide relief to the masses suffering from inflation and recession.Dr Sharma further said Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji is silent, he has not spoken a word on rising prices of fuel, or condition of farmers and in order to hide failures of his government today also he is blaming congress for rise in fuel prices. Dr Sharma further said that Honble PM has forgot that its BJP who is running the country from last 7 years not the opposition and dared BJP leaders including Smritiirani to send bangles to PMnow as she did during times of UPA government and said this exposes the dual attitude of BJP leadership as they only shout when in opposition but when running the country no leader has spine to criticse own government for failure to run country and control price rise.Brijeshwar Singh, Indu, Devinder Singh Bindu, Radha Rani, Rajinder Takhur, Kuldeep Singh Kaka, Nabab Di, Set Paul, Kulbushan Singh, Happy Surinder Singh, Rashpaul Singh, Madan Lal, Karam Chand Khajuria, Brijlal, Dalbir Singh Sethi Youth Cong leader, Nasib Singh, Shalo Ram, Tej Ram Sharma.
