JAMMU: The sleuths of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have arrested one Ashok Kumar, Patwari, Patwar Halqa Jassore, Tehsil R S Pura, District Jammu for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 35,000 from a complainant.
As per an official spokespersons of investigating agency, FIR RC0042022A0002 was registered on January 15, 2022 under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 (as amended in 2018), on basis of a complaint regarding demand of bribe by accused Government servant. He further said that in complaint it was alleged that accused Ashok Kumar, Patwari, Patwar Halqa Jassore, Tehsil R S Pura, District Jammu was demanding bribe of Rs 50,000 from complainant for issuing Fard in respect of land owned by his father. “During verification, allegations mentioned in complaint were found to be genuine and bribe amount was negotiated at Rs 35,000. Accordingly, a trap was laid by CBI and accused was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 35,000 from the complainant. Searches were also conducted at the office and residential premises of accused,” the official said, adding that accused will be produced before the Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption (CBI cases), Jammu.
