Burglary at hotel solved, thief nabbed

KATRA: Police on Friday solved a theft case and arrested a thief.
As per details, on February 18, 2021, one Vikram Singh, son of Balwan Singh, resident of Pouni, at present staying at Katra lodged a complaint at Police Station Katra stating that on intervening night of February 17-18, some unknown person or persons entered hotel Meridain and decamped with 4 LEDs. In this regard a case vide FIR No 32/21 under section 457/380 IPC was registered at Police Station Katra and investigation of case was entrusted to SI Bishan Singh.
During the course of investigation, the IO arrested a suspect namely Mohd Arif, son of Nazam Din Wani, resident of Batote, Tehsil Batote, District Ramban. On sustained interrogation, he confessed his involvement in the crime and further disclosed that two of stolen LEDs have been hidden in bushes near Railway road. On his disclosure, both LEDs were recovered by Police. Further investigation is going on in the matter. The recovery was made by SHO Police Station Katra Inspr Sunil Sharma assisted by SI Bishan Singh of Police Station Katra, under supervision of SDPO Katra Kuljeet Singh, SP Katra Amit Bhasin and SSP Reasi Rashmi Wazir.
