RAJOURI: Agitated over callous attitude of the Rajouri District Administration and absence of Naib Tehsildar Budhal for the last one year from office, locals of Rajnagar Budhal and its adjoining areas held a protest under the leadership of young BJP leader Manzoor Ahmed Naik by blocking Budhal Rajouri highway for hours and disrupted vehicular movement.
Whole Rajnagar Budhal town observed a complete shutdown in solidarity with the protesters. The protesters shouted slogans against DC Rajouri and ADC Koteranka as Naib Tehsildar Budhal’s’ office is vacant for the last one year.
Talking to the media persons Manzoor Naik said that “In the year 1968 Tehsil was established at Budhal but some political leaders for their vested interests had shifted the Tehsil offices to Koteranka town about 20 kms from Rajnagar Budhal. Since 1971 Rajnagar Budhal is a Niyabat but now for the last one year it is totally defunct as office is vacant and whole Rajouri district administration is in deep slumber. Manzoor Naik further mentioned that “the office of Financial Commissioner Revenue vide order number 148 FC (Revenue) of 2020 Dated: 22-08-2020 transferred one Shabir Ahmed as Look After Naib Tehsildar of Budhal Niyabat against available vacancy but sadly the Niyabat office is still vacant and the posted Naib Tehsildar is absent from his duty from the date of his transfer. The issue has been brought to the notice of district administration several times but unfortunately neither DC Rajouri nor any other official pay any heed towards this issue and left poor people and students of Rajnagar Budhal and its adjoining areas to suffer. Even for an income certificate or for the attestation of affidavits local people have to travel to koteranka tehsil office by spending hundred of rupees as they are left with no other choice.”
Naik stressed on the fact that approximately more than 90 percent of the people of the area are daily wagers and because of the absence of Naib Tehsildar these local daily wagers are forced to visit koteranka tehsil headquarters by wasting their one full precious day to get even small revenue records or even to get their domicile certificates signed. “It is a sheer injustice to the innocent people of Budhal and protesters demanded immediate posting of Naib Tehsildar to Budhal otherwise they will continue their protest demonstration”, protesters warned district administration. Other leaders of BJP present during protest were Tilak Raj Sharma, Manzoor Malik, Hafiz Asif, Arfan Sheikh, Gulzar Rather, Suresh Kumar, Munshi Ram, Manzoor Rather, Abdul Rashid and many others.
