Jammu: Bovine smugglers tried to hit Police Naka party stationed at Bhagwati Nagar bridge on Tawi river under Satwari Police Station however, cops narrowly escaped the incident. Acting swiftly, police nabbed two smugglers and rescued 12 cattle from the truck. A case was registered at Satwari Police Station against Riyaz Ahmed resident of Anantnag and Kala Gujjar of resident R S Pura in this regard.As per details, Beli Charana laid a Naka at Tawi Bridge on Saturday night and signaled a truck (JK02AD: 5227) to stop, which was coming from Nikki Tawi Karnala Chak. On seeing police party, the accused broke the barrier and tried to escape besides hitting police personnel, who had a narrow escape. The truck was chased and stopped at some distance. Both occupants of the truck were taken into custody.
