Liquor smuggled from Punjab for sale in Jammu

JAMMU: Police on Sunday arrested a bootlegger at Purmandal Morh and recovered 40 bottles of liquor meant for ‘Sale in Punjab’ from his possession.
As per details, acting tough against menace of sale of smuggled liquor, several nakas have been established by Jammu Police.
One such naka was laid by a team from Police Station Gangyal led by SHO Gangyal Inspector Raghuvir Singh near Purmandal Morh, where the police team rounded up a suspect namely Joginder Kumar, son of Sukhdev Singh, resident of Baroi Upparli, Pathankot (Punjab), who was traveling in a vehicle (PB35Z-1894), coming from Bari Brahmana side.
During searches, 40 bottles of liquor meant for ‘Sale in Punjab’ comprising 2 bottles (750 Ml each) of Imperial Blue, 10 bottles (750 Ml each) of McDowells, 7 bottles (750 Ml each) of Punjab Old Fox Rum and 21 bottles (375 Ml each) of Punjab Old Fox Rum were recovered from his possession. He was arrested on the spot and FIR 89/21 under sections 48(A)/50 of Excise Act was registered against him at Police Station Gangyal. Further investigation of the case is going on.
