JAMMU: With an aim to provide blood to needy people amid COVID-19 pandemic, a blood donation camp was held on Tuesday in Government Medical College & Hospital Jammu. The camp was organised by Sahil Kerni, brother of deceased Youth NC leader Rohit Kerni, who lost his life due to lethal virus few months ago.Speaking to media persons, Sahil said that amidst surging numbers of COVID-19 positive cases in J&K, supply of blood for patients received a jolt, due to which he decided to hold the camp for boosting the supply. A total of 17 units of blood were donated during the camp. “Human race is passing through an acute critical period of COVID-19 combined with natural calamities. Hence, we should hold voluntary blood donation camp to save precious lives,” he added.Meena Sidhu, Head of Department Blood Bank GMC appreciated efforts of youth for donating blood and informed that blood donation is safe amid COVID pandemic.
