Blind Hit & Run case solved, accused held

AKHNOOR: Police on Sunday solved a blind hit and run case and arrested an accused. As per details, on February 27, 2021, an information was received through reliable sources that an unknown vehicle driven in a rash and negligent manner hit a scooty (JK02BS/0902), driven by one Narinder Kumar, son of Bulla Ram, resident of Chaprayal, Khour on way from Kodeywala towards Akhnoor at Sohal. Due to accident, scooty rider received injuries and some locals shifted him to hospital.
The unknown driver along with vehicle fled away from spot after the accident. As per information, a case vide FIR No. 51/2021 under Sections 279 & 337 of IPC was registered at Police Station Akhnoor. Special teams were constituted under SHO Akhnoor Insp Ravi Parihar.
On basis of technical inputs and after thorough investigation, the accused driver, namely Mohd Zaffer, son of Abdul Hamid, resident of Danyot, Tehsil Kalakot, Rajouri was arrested, who also confessed his crime and on his disclosure, dumper without registration number was also recovered and seized accordingly.
