BJP State Media Secretary calls on LG Mathur

LEH: BJP State Media Secretary of UT Ladakh, Mohd Hassan Pasha on Sunday called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, R K Mathur.
Pasha brought into the notice of the Lt. Governor various developmental issues including expansion of Kargil Airport, Sodh Block lift irrigation, Sodh Block Sub-division status, etc for due consideration. He also highlighted the issue of unemployment in UT Ladakh and requested for its early redressal. LG Mathur asserted that Ladakh has a power house of human resources with well educated, informed, talented and professional populace of young boys and girls. Employment is a universal issue, said the LG. He stated the fact that 90% of an economy is catered by non government jobs and for Ladakh to prosper the youth here also needs to establish their entrepreneurial ventures, rather than eyeing just the government job because. He said that UT Administration does recognize the problem of unemployment in the region and the recently held Kaushal Melas, providing handholding and training in skill development and upcoming Employment Fairs are steps initiated in this direction. He informed about the recruitments done through DSSRB in Kargil and more to be done through DSSRB in Leh and Kargil in the coming days. He spoke of the engagements through outsourcing. LG said that in the last about one and a half years, more than 1000 youth have been engaged through DSSRB and outsourcing. He said that UT Administration has taken up fresh measures to develop and promote the primary sector, renewable energy, tourism etc. that will provide ample job opportunities to Ladakhi youth and would boost the local economy. As far recruitment for government jobs at UT level is concerned, the Lt. Governor said that law for domicile and reservation in jobs is necessary. This has been held back to understand the aspirations of the people and specific recommendations in the matter need to be expedited. This position has been repeatedly made known by the UT Administration.
