BJP organises ‘Dogri Punjabi Samagam’ under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ campaign

JAMMU: As part of its significant ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ programme, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a special event namely ‘Dogri and Punjabi Samagam’ at Shikshak Bhawan here on Monday.
It is pertinent to mention here that Jangi Lal Mahajan MLA Punjab and President All India Mahajan Sabha was the Chief Guest of the programme which witnessed the presentations of Dogri and Punjabi artists tying the knot and the mesmerized audience stood dancing on toes making the environs vibrant. The performances of the artists were highly appreciated and the artists were honoured on the occasion. The main organized of the event was senior BJP leader and Party’s Vice President J&K, Yudhvir Sethi. Priya Sethi, National Executive Member, BJP and Baldev Billawaria, Deputy Mayor were also present.
Jangi Lal Mahajan, MLA Punjab and President All India Mahajan Sabha in his address on the occasion said that the cultural bonds can be strengthened by first cultivating the same by creating healthy environment at the grass roots level i.e. by reaching out to the people there and making them aware about the significance of blending of cultures and the role of BJP in promoting it. He urged party leaders present on the occasion to take the policies and programmes of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to every nook and corner across the J&K Union Territory. He directed them to bring into motion the entire party cadre especially the activists and workers to make the people aware about the party’s achievements after it came to power at the Centre.
Jangi Lal Mahajan asked the party’s foot soldiers to make the people at grass roots level aware about how BJP led Govt at the Centre that has been successfully marching ahead to fulfill this nation building mission.
Ashok Koul, General Secretary Organization J&K asked the party cadre to keep in mind the basic objectives of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat’ and proactively function as party’s foot soldiers on ground in accordance with and towards achievement of the objectives. Educating those present on the occasion about the aforesaid programme, he said that India is a culturally rich country and is known across the globe for its identity for its rich history of cultural evolution.
Dr. Narendra Singh, National Secretary (Co-in-Charge BJP Punjab) said that in furtherance of promoting this identity of the nation, the ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ scheme has been introduced under the Ministry of Human Resource Development to encourage the people of India to learn about the culture of different states and Union Territories and promote a stronger and united India.
Kavinder Gupta, former deputy Chief Minister, said that in the era of technology which has reduced geographical boundaries, it is important to establish cultural exchanges between people of different regions, as a means to further human bonding and a common approach to nation-building.
Yudhvir Sethi, while delivering the welcome address on the occasion, emphasized that culture of the country connects us together and today’s ‘Dogri Punjabi Samagam’ has been organized with the aim of further strengthening the bond between Dogra and Punjabi cultures. He informed that participants in the event can enjoy Dogri and Punjabi cuisine which is a special attraction of the event. He asserted that ‘One India Best India’ is the call of the day and every one of us endeavour to achieve this goal.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Rajiv Charak, Sanjay Baru and Rekha Mahajan, Co Conveners of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, J&K. They assured to work proactively to achieve the objectives of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.
