JAMMU: Declaration of holiday on Ambedkar Jayanti, the birthday of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, by the Union government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again proved that the BJP has very high regards for the ‘Architect of the Indian Constitution’ and recognizes his services for the nation and the weaker sections in the true sense.
Ever since Narendra Modi government came into power, it decided to recognize the services and sacrifices of great leaders of the nation, who had served ‘Mother India’ with loyalty and dedication but were deliberately ignored by the previous Congress regimes, which had only concern for Nehru-Gandhi family.
Jammu and Kashmir BJP Spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan said this while sharing what BJP government has done to keep alive Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals and memory in the minds of the new generation with the party activists in a meeting at party headquarter.
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Architect of our Constitution, known lawyer and a social reformer, who acted as the Masiah of the down trodden, was kept confined to the pages of text books but never given the national honour which he deserved. He was posthumously conferred with Bharat Ratna not by any Congress government but by BJP supported government.
The BJP government has identified all the important places related to different stages of the life of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and built memorials not only in India but abroad as well.
Balbir said that Ambedkar Jayanti is an annual festival observed on 14th April to commemorate the memory of Dr. Ambedkar. It marks the Baba Sahab’s birthday who was born on this day in 1891. Since 2015, after Modi govt. came into power it has been observed as official public holiday throughout India. Keeping in with the same tradition, the govt. has once again declared a national public holding on 14th April this year also, which is the 130th birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar.
He told that Bheem Janam Bhoomi Memorial and Museum has been built in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, Ambedkar Memorial in Delhi, where Dr. Ambedkar breathed his last, Chaitya Bhoomi has been set up in Mumbai, where he was cremated after his death, Deeksha Bhoomuin where Dr. B.R. Ambedkar converted to Buddhism.
