JAMMU: Congress announced to intensify its agitational programme through out length and breadth of J&K against the Government’s ‘Tax Terrorism’ by organising series of protests, Dharnas and arrests to create movement for seeking rollback of unprecedented taxes by Centre Govt and UT administration. It was stated on Wednesday by JKPCC Chief G A Mir in a convention of party, which was attended by prominent office bearers of PCC, District Congress committees, DDC members and candidates besides leaders of frontal wings of the party. A schedule of protest demonstrations was chalked out for different areas of all districts in which people as well workers and senior leader shall participate.JKPCC Chief, while briefing the media on sidelines of convention, disclosed the schedule of protests upto March 30, stating that party units are already protesting but it shall be expanded and intensified throughout Jammu province and Kashmir valley in coming days.Earlier addressing leaders, Mir said that the Government has let loose a reign of terror by imposing heavy taxes of various kinds and common man is unable to manage his livelihood and daily needs.
