STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: BJP Government has ensured that welfare schemes percolate upto grassroots levels with people getting benefits of every bit of endeavours made at the Central Government level. This was stated by DDC Chairman Jammu, Bharat Bhushan Bodhi after distributing 4 Maize Thrashing Machines for Panchayats Malpur, Mishriwala, Kot Lower and Purkhoo during an event held by the Agriculture Department here at Mishriwalla. In presence of Chief Agriculture Officer A S Reen along with SDO Dr Ashwani Jojra and PRI members, the DDC Chairman also distributed paddy seeds among the farmers for production of hybrid Maize.Speaking on the occasion, Bharat Bhushan said that the mechanism ensured by the central dispensation to reach out to masses is behind this endeavour through which such machinery has been made available to these Panchayats. He said that earlier during the regime of Congress the things meant for the common man never reached the desired beneficiaries rather near and dear ones of the political class used to enjoy all the fun and facilities. “The blue-eyed ruled the roost under Congress’ realms but now the government is of people in true sense and even a needle issued for the masses from the Centre reaches its rightful beneficiary”, he maintained, adding that this is the difference between nationalist BJP and the corrupt Congress governments. He said that those jealous of BJP Government led by PM Narendra Modi are spreading false and frivolous stories of farmers getting deceived under the BJP regime. He said that like so many other promises made and fulfilled by the PM Modi, the assertion on doubling the income of farmers will also be fulfilled and there is no reason to raise a doubt.Later, the DDC Chairman interacted with the Agriculture department officials and asked them to facilitate the farmers by guiding them to resolve their issues which the tiller community is confronting right now to increase the yield and also acting as beacon of light to help them in selling their produce in Mandis at handsome price. He said that addressing the problems of the farmers should be the first and foremost priority of the Agriculture Department employees and no dilly-dallying will be accepted in this matter. The DDC Chairman urged the concerned quarters in the government to consider opening of a maize procurement centre in Lower Gharota and other places as there is none in the vicinity making things difficult for the Maize Farmers of the area as they are not getting the minimum sale price of their crop.Disseminating information on Modi Government raising the MSP and ensuring cash assistance to farmers under Samman Nidhi Scheme, Bharat Bhushan said that government is committed to the welfare of farmers and it will leave no stone unturned to ensure that crop growers of the country live a prosperous life full of dignity and pride.
