JAMMU: It is a great feat for the people of Jammu and Kashmir as the effort of BJP Government led by PM Narendra Modi has set a benchmark in J&K by administering over 2 crore vaccine jabs to beneficiaries falling in various categories above 18 years of age.
In a statement issued to media here today, BJP J&K Spokesperson, Advocate Abhinav Sharma said that despite number of odds and vaccine hesitancy among the large section of population the government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has crossed the 2 crore mark of administering the vaccine doses in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that a couple of years back no one was of the opinion that India will have the inoculation for the most dreadful disease of all times-COVID-19 but it was the extraordinary efforts and strong resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that India achieved this greatest feat of all times and come up with indigenous vaccine which not only helped the people of the country to combat virus robustly but was also given to many countries across the world including Pakistan to fight the virus confidently.
Sharma said that J&K, being the region having tough terrains and large population, showing hesitancy towards vaccination was slowly and gradually covered under this gigantic campaign which was meant to fortify the population against the merciless coronavirus.
He said that the endeavour by the BJP government at the centre which provided adequate number of vaccine jabs to the UT of J&K and other logistics, and enthusiasm shown by the frontline workers including health department staffers under the realms of LG Manoj Sinha has helped the J&K to achieve this feat by which the UT has crossed 2 Crore mark of administering vaccines to people thus making them strong against the lethal virus that has wreaked havoc across the world.
The senior BJP leader said that J&K has been a front runner among the States/UTs in vaccinating the eligible population with the COVID vaccine.
“It was on 12th January 2022, the administration achieved 100 percent 2nd dose coverage of 18 and above age group”, Sharma said, adding that the people should invariably follow the government advisories with regard to new variant Omicron as it is important to remain safe and stop the transmission of the virus.
