JAMMU: Continuing their endeavour to provide immediate relief to the poor and needy persons in chilly winter, Bharat Sevashram Sangha (BSS) Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory Branch on Saturday distributed about 500 Woolen Clothes (Jackets) among the poor, needy and downtrodden persons at village Kotla near Nagrota.Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chander Mohan Gupta was the Chief Guest while Ashwani Kotwal along with other prominent inhabitants of the locality was also present.Kamla Gupta Vice President BJP Mahila Morcha also attended the function which was held in a very simple manner.Appreciating the Sangha’s commitment towards the services of humanity, the Mayor congratulated the BSS for its selfless activities towards needy persons who are living below poverty line.He again noted that the activities of such organizations highlight and reinvigorate our ethical conditions and serve as guiding force for the betterment of humanity.He also lauded the efforts of BSS for their Social Welfare Programme and appealed to the Sangha to continue its humanitarian services for the weaker sections of the society.Swami Satyamitranand Maharaj, Incharge Bharat Sevashram Sangha’s Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory, also highlighted activities of the organization and said that his organization has set a target of distribution of about 50,000 clothes during winter and summer season to the needy population every year.He further said that the Sangha is also running a school for the poor children and also providing mid day meals to them as well as 100 bedded Hospital with full medical facilities for the patients who are unable to bear the expenses for their medical treatment and also organizing food stalls for Amarnath Yatris every year.
