BDC Mandi urges LG to ensure all facilities to people on Eid


Poonch: People Democratic Party District President and Block development Chairperson Mandi Shamim Ganai on Tuesday urged the LG Administration to ensure all facilities to the people on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr saying it was duty bound to ensure people adequate supply of all basic and effective amenities in the wake of upcoming festive occasions. Shamim Ganai said that the incumbent administration was duty bound to ensure steady supply of electricity, water to people, particularly during the upcoming auspicious occasions. “The administration should gear up for the forthcoming festivities and ensure that festive fervour of the people is not dampened by the paucity of basic edibles and facilities. I urge the UT administration to ensure availability of edibles in the micro containment zones,” he said. Ganai also impressed upon the district administration Poonch to dole out extra quota of sugar, rice and wheat to BPL consumers at all government ration stores across Poonch. “It is now the responsibility of the administration to make full-proof arrangements for the same,”. He said that in view of Eid-ul-Fitr, the administration should release salaries of daily wagers, casual need-based, contingent paid workers, Anganwadi workers and others in advance so that their families do not suffer and heave a sigh of relief. He further appealed to the Central Government and the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir UT to provide adequate financial assistance to the educated unemployed youth in this lockdown so that the confidence of the youth in the Government of India is maintained. He should not take wrong steps and stay away from social diseases like drugs and other sins. District administration provide essential items to the people and give some relief on Eid so that they can buy and sell essential items on this holy day and celebrate the festival at home with the children. At the same time, he appealed to SSP Poonch to instruct the soldiers stationed at his check post not to beat anyone, don,t be rude on the occasion of Eid and try to explain with love.
Finally, Ganai said in his statement that he hoped that Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir UT Manoj Sinha would pay special attention to all these important issues, and take important ,Bold steps especially for unemployed educated youth. He, meanwhile, congratulated the people of the Islamic world as well as all the people on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and asked them to take precautionary measures and ensure compliance with the orders issued by the administration.
