JAMMU: Amid ecstatic fervour and enthusiasm, the Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association celebrated its Silver Jublee (25th foundation day) by organising a function at Dei Chack Bhadrore, near Ghou-Manhassan, here on Sunday.The programme commenced with lighting of ceremonial lamp.It was mentioned that in 1995, some Batwal Community members met at Sri Guru Gyagi Asthan in Shahzadpur where R.L Kaith quoted a thought “Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress and working together is success”. After that, Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association was framed.The journey of the association started with the intention of working non-profitably for various social causes of the community members. Attending the function, Kaith cited the achievements and good work done by the Association in the last 25 years.President Subedar Major (Retd) Romesh Sargotra said that the actual success of association is the achievement of its members who remain on call 24 hours a day the year round.General Secretary Ram Lal Lakhotra appreciated the relentless efforts of Association members.The occasion was graced by Dr Ramesh Kumar Kaith. The Association presented to him the ‘Medal of Honour’ for earning his Ph.D in Geology and wished him all the best for future.Association Chairman Kamal Singh Kaith presented the vote of thanks.Prominent among others who attended the function include Hony Captain Ram Lal Sargotra, Hony Captain Kamal Chand Motan, Ex Sub. Major Gunni Ram Kaith, Ex Subedar Baldev Chand Sandhu, Ex Subedar Narayan Dass Bassa, Ex Havildar Des Raj Kaith, Ex Havildar Uttam Chand Sandhu, Master Naresh Kaith, Meal Ram Tugga, Baljeet Kaith, Tilak Raj Bassa, Raj Kumar Chanjotra, Gandherb Motan, Hans Raj Bahadur, Bhushan Lal Kaith, Darshan Lal Lakhotra, Kuldeep Raj Motan, Mohan Lal Kaith, Rashpal Lakhotra, Bua Ditta Kaith and Bodh Raj Lakhotra.
