JAMMU: Ex-Chief Secretary and Apni Party General Secretary Vijay Bakaya urged Lt. Governor and UT administration to address the genuine problems of Kashmiri Pandits living in exile for last more than thirty years and particularly the hardships being faced by them during this tough time of 2nd wave of COVID-19 pandemic that has caused huge sufferings to them .
Bakaya was apprised by party’s 2 State coordinators of Displaced Kashmiri Pandits of Jammu and Kashmir Provinces Vinod Pandita and Sanjay Dhar about the overall prevailing situation and the difficulties being faced by Displaced Kashmiri Pandits in all migrant/transit camps in both regions
Bakaya said that Kashmiri Pandits living in migrant and transit camps in both the regions are facing a lot of hardships on various fronts like Sanitization, spray fumigation, cleanliness and upkeep, scarcity of regular supply of pure drinking water, shortage of adequate medicines and oxygen cylinders in Sub District Hospital Jagti.
He also said that the position of transit camps of Kashmir where PM package employees are putting up is not also good as PM package employees face a lot of hardships for accommodation and transit camps are also in dilapidated conditions also for want of repair and renovation as lack proper sanitation, medical facilities etc .
Bakaya appealed Lt. Governor J&K to issue immediate necessary directions to the concerned to take immediate preventive measures in all migrant/ Transit camps in Jammu and Kashmir by way of carrying out regular sanitization, fumigation and up keep in view of huge spike in COVID cases to avoid any untoward incident in these congested camps.
He further appealed state administration to ensure regular supply of drinking water in all camps keeping in view the prevailing situation, ensure availability of adequate medicines and oxygen supply in Sub District Hospital Jagti to cater to the needs of the people.
Bakaya also appealed Lt. Governor to issue immediate directions to concerned for accomplishing the construction work of Quarters in a time bound period so that hardships faced by the package employees are addressed at the earliest.
