JAMMU: Principal Sessions Judge Udhampur Mohan Lal Manhas rejected bail application of Yawar Ahmed, son of Abdul Ahad, resident of Kakran Ganie Kulgam; Tariq Ahmed, son of Late Ali Mohammad, resident of Devsar Qazikund Anantnag; Nariender Singh @ Kaka, son of Shankar Singh, resident of Sukhi Karlai Udhampur and Anand Kishore, son of Bhishan Dass, resident of Jaganoo Udhampur who was booked under sections 8, 15, 29 of NDPS Act after being arrested with psychotropic substances. The accused persons were arrested by Rehmbal police along with 122 Kg commercial quantity poppy straw.After hearing Public Prosecutor Inderjeet Sharma, Principal Sessions Judge Udhampur M L Manhas observed that in this case charge-sheet has already presented in the court and some witnesses had been recorded and if accused were admitted to bail at this stage, there is every apprehension that he may flee from the law and definitely win over the prosecution witnesses.Court further said that in view of clear embargo imposed by section 37 of NDPS Act are no help to accused. “On these consideration and in view of aforesaid discussion, Court is of considered opinion that it is fittest case, where the bail sought not to be granted and accused too have failed to carve out a strong case for bails in their favour, bail applications being misconceived under law are disallowed and rejected,” he observed.
