Awareness imparted on road safety


POONCH: An awareness lecture on “Road Safety” was organised by Army at Government Middle School, Kataria Ban in District Poonch.
The audience was guided about wearing of the helmets and seat belts while traveling. If correctly used, seat belts can reduce the risk of death in a crash by 61% and use of helmets can reduce fatal and serious head injuries by up to 45%.
The speaker also appealed students and civilian to obey traffic rules, avoid drinking and not to talk on mobile calls while driving.
The students and teachers applauded the efforts of Indian Army in spreading awareness about such critical issues. A total of three teachers and 26 students attended the event.
