RAMBAN: Ashok Kumar, Former MLA from Ramban and a Senior Congress leader along with Congress Block presidents of Batote and Gandhri distributed free ration and essential kits to the families of widows and needy and urged upon the J&K government to ensure that the PDS food grains should reach out to all the beneficiaries and needy people in transparent manner across Jammu and Kashmir region.
In a statement issued here, he said that with increasing days of lockdown under second wave in this pandemic, the marginal section of people who are located in far flung areas are under huge crisis and suffering from shortage of food grains. He said people who do not have a ration card or even aadhar card should be eligible for free dry ration. He urged upon the Food and supply Department to clear the menace of biometric and ensure free ration to all the needy.
Ashok further stressed upon the Lieutenant Governor to provide immediate financial assistant to under privileged families across the UT to sustain their daily livelihood in this pandemic. In addition, immediate financial help should be given to the families where the person with job have lost his/her life due to covid-19 virusin order to save the remaining members of family which now have become helpless.
Ashok has appealed to the delegates, office bearers of frontal organisation, Congress party workers and leaders across the Ramban and Doda District to come forward and help the most needy people who are under huge financial stress and Lost their near and dear ones in this pandemic. It becomes the duty of every person to help the needy and under privileged in their surrounding areas.
