RAJOURI: With the aim to promote development of education standards in the region, Army provided furniture to Government Middle School Upper Churag, Thanamandi (Rajouri district) under Sadbhavana. The school has a total strength of 192 students from remote areas with maximum of them belonging to BPL category and lack basic infrastructure. The local villagers of area approach the Indian Army for assistance. In continuation with the initiatives by Army to engage local populace specially school children, the furniture which includes Desk, benches and writing boards were provided to the school. The event was organised with an aim to uplift the education standards of the school children in region. The joy and enthusiasm was evident on the faces of the students on receiving the furniture. Mr Mohd Sharif Headmaster appreciated the gesture of the Indian Army. He said that “such gestures by army are very touching and encouraging”. The teachers and students thanked the army for their efforts and admire such gesture by the army.
