Army provides aid to civilians stranded on Mughal Road


POONCH: On account of inclement weather conditions, heavy rainfall and excessive lightning, a large part of Mughal road was blocked due to felling of several trees in Gen Area between Ratta Chamb and Mansar Mod in District Poonch (J&K). As a result, 41 civilians were stranded at the location.
On learning about the incident at 1800hrs, local Army unit swung into action and launched a rescue operation from Joint Check Post at KM-28. The rescue operation was terminated at 2100 Hrs and 41 civilians were safely rescued. No injuries reported. Adequate heating arrangement and warm meals were catered for the rescued locals. Civilian of the region conveyed their gratitude to the men in uniform for the extraordinary and timely assistance provided to the locals.
