KUPWARA: Locals of Machhal Bowl, a remote area along Line of Control and separated by Zamindar Gali from Mainland Kupwara, woke up to the notes of musical instruments and tunes of folk songs as the finals of Machhal Talent Hunt 2015 began with great enthusiasm.

This event was organised by locals, facilitated by Machhal Rashtriya Riffle Battalion under the aegis of Chinar Corps, with an aim to assist local boys, girls and elders to explore their talent and make them realise that they are no lesser than participants of TV reality show ‘India Got Talent’.

Habibulla, a local resident said that the people of Machhal feel blessed that such kind of event has been organised with the assistance of Indian Army for the first time in such a remote area.  Ameena, a school going girl said that the stage of Machhal Talent Hunt has motivated us to showcase our hidden talent in front of others and encouraged us to participate in such events in future too.

Around 200 youths and elders participated in different events including dancing, singing, painting, etc. The final event was presided over by GOC Vajra Division.

Further to motivate the participants and recognize their talent, GOC Vajra Division gave away the prizes and certificates to all the participants.
