NOWSHERA : The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Kalal conducted a veterans meet at Govt Middle School, Kalsiyan with an aim to mitigate their grievances of the veterans and Veer Naris of Battalion Area of Responsibility.
The platform was utilized for a healthy interaction between the Ex-servicemen cell of the Battalion and 100 veterans from the Kalal and adjoining village including Veer Naris of Battalion Area or Responsibility. Interaction was organised with the aim of discussing the issues of employment opportunities, problems faced by veterans and their dependents and women empowerment.
Information of various welfare related schemes, treatment in civil hospital through ECHS and education for children was disseminated. The attendees were informed regarding various welfare schemes launched by the Government for the benefit of ESMs for skill development, job trainings and incentives for setup of small scale industries to the veterans. Officials from the Army emphasized the importance of harmony in the process of development and invited all cross-sections of the society towards the positive contribution in this direction to strengthen the bond of harmony.
Army has been conducting such meets at regular intervals and instrumental in resolving a large number of pension related grievances which has gone a long way towards ameliorating the economic conditions of the veterans residing in the Battalion Area of Responsibility.
