Army holds COVID-19 awareness campaigns

POONCH: To mitigate the spread of second wave in rural areas, Saujiyan Battalion in District Poonch initiated an awareness campaign drive.
Sanitation drive due to heavy influx of civilians in Public Health Centre, Police Station and J&K Bank Branch a fully fledged sanitation drive was conducted by Battalion Housekeeping Det.
Assistance provided by distributed hand sanitizer and mask to elderly people. Door to Door campaigning and Interaction with ESM (Army/CAPF) was also carried out and they were exhorted to ensure COVID protocols for all. Interaction with PHC staff was organised to enhance vaccination state in over 45 yr category. Essential Med Kits were also distributed to FLWs.
Battalion also carried out vehicle based awareness drive and urged people for vaccination and to follow COVID protocols to avoid further spread.
Meanwhile, Balnoi Battalion deployed along line of control at Balnoi Sector in district Poonch (J&K) organised COVID-19 vaccination camp for ex servicemen, Veer Naris and Army’s frontline workers (local porters) wherein attendees were administered first dose of COVID vaccine. Camp is followed by one week long COVID-19 Awareness drive.
