Army establishes bakery in border village to empower women

NOWSHERA: The Rashtriya Rifle Battalion in collaboration with NGO Aseem Foundation has established a bakery outlet in Lam, Tehsil Nowshera to empower local women of border village. To make this successful initially local unemployed women were identified followed by training on bakery skills for the duration of three weeks by the coordinator of Aseem Foundation.
To start this initiative, initially Army felt the requirement of initiating this project for local women of Lam village and created a bakery unit which include all machinery required for smooth functioning. This project will not only generate employment for local women of border village. Moreover it will also make them self reliant and self dependent. The total of 12 women were trained on the subject who will become the role model for other to follow as this bakery will be based on self sustainment model.
The DDC Chairman and public of Lam village conveyed their gratitude for this enterprising initiative which entails positive engagement of unemployed women to pursue a line of profession with better opportunities and hope for a brighten and prosperous future.
