JAMMU: Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) on Thursday apprehended one narcotics dealer and recovered huge quantity of Charas from his possession. “On a specific input that a vehicle Truck bearing registration number JK21-4771 carrying huge quantity of Poppy straw is coming via Mansar, ANTF laid naka at Shah-Balore, near Mansar Morh and intercepted the aforesaid vehicle and apprehended one Narco dealer,” and Vinay Sharma, SSP ANTF J&K said.
He added that on thorough checking of the vehicle, huge quantity of Poppy Straw (552.28 kgs approximately) was recovered which was to be delivered outside the J&K UT and one narcotics dealer was arrested from the vehicle.
The accused was identified as Angrej Singh, son of Khem Raj, resident of Paraei, Panchari, Udhampur.
Accordingly, case FIR No 18/2022 under Section 08/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu, he said adding that the investigation is at initial stage and ANTF is investigating the forward and backward links of this consignment and more arrests are expected.
Moreover, SSP ANTF has appealed general public to share any information regarding such narco dealers, so that strict actions under law can be taken against them.
