SRINAGAR: In continuation to its drive against drug dealers, Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of J & K Police on Saturday seized two more trucks coming from Kashmir to Jammu and recovered 5.110 kgs and 4.51 kgs of Hashish. Two smugglers have been arrested. This is the third major recovery of Hashish in two days. Yesterday, a truck was seized was ANTF and 5.80 kgs of Hashish was recovered from a drug smuggler coming from Kashmir to Jammu.
Giving details SSP ANTF Vinay Sharma said that acting on a specific information, ANTF teams laid Nakas and searches were conducted at various places on Srinagar Jammu National Highway and recovered two consignments of Hashish from two different trucks (JK02AG 0865 and JK02R 6765).
Both arrested smugglers have been identified as Junaid Shah, son of Nissar Shah, resident of Kot Dhara, Rajouri and Liaqat Hussain, son of Mushtaq Hussain, resident of Kot Dhara, Rajouri. Total approx 15 kgs of Hashish has been recovered in two days in back to back seizures. Cases have been registered against these drug dealers under relevant sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. ANTF is investigating forward and backward linkages of these drug dealers. More arrests are expected. ANTF has appealed general Public to come forward and share any information about drug dealers so as to uproot this menace from our society.
