JAMMU: Expressing serious concern over the mysterious death of a migrant employee working under PM Package, All Migrant Employees Association Kashmir (AMEAK) has sought a thorough and fair investigation into the death of Ajay Kapoor, who was working in the office of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla and his body was found under mysterious circumstances near Veervan Transit Camp. President AMEAK Rubon Saproo said that the unfortunate death of their colleague under mysterious circumstances has brought a shocking wave among PM Package employees working in the Valley besides raising many doubts among them. Demanding an impartial probe into the death case, he has made an appeal to the Lieutenant Governor of UT Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha to take matter into cognizance and pass directions to concerned authorities about fair investigation in the matter so that exact cause behind death could be known. “He was the lone son and only bread earner of the family and therefore his death has caused a great loss to the family,” he said, adding that the government should immediately provide financial assistance to the victim’s family. “It is responsibility of the government to ensure security of every PM Package and non package migrant employee working in valley and particularly to those who were living at rented accommodations,” said another association leader Rakesh Pandita and demanded that government should provide an accommodation to every migrant employee on the pattern of secretariat employees till completion of their transit camp accommodation. Reiterating their demand of an appointment of nodal officer, AMEAK leadership once again stressed that there was a need to create a system to mitigate sufferings of employees and it could only be possible to some extent once nodal officer not less than the rank of KAS cadre could be appointed to lookafter grievance of package employees.
