Ambedkar Jayanti celebrated with zeal across Jammu

JAMMU: The 130th birth anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was celebrated on Wednesday across Jammu with zeal and passion. A number of programmes were organised by various political and social organsations to pay rich tributes to the Father of Indian Constitution, Dr B R Ambedkar.

Gandhi Nagar People’s Front (GNPF) in collaboration with Valmiki Mahasabha team organised an Ice-cream Langar at Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar. Adv Deepak Gupta, while addressing media, said that Dr B R Ambedkar is an inspiration for world for his vision towards the society at large. “Baba Sahib’s life is a motivation for youth of our country. He served as the Law Minister of India after going through all the atrocities of society right from childhood days, in school and even during his studies at abroad,” said Deepak, urging youth to follow the path of Dr Ambedkar for realising his dream for India. Devanand Gill (President SafaiKaramchari Union) and Jung Bahadur (President Valmiki Mahasabha) were special guest on the occasion. They also spoke about life history and contributions of Dr Ambedkar towards downtrodden sections of the society. Others present on the occasion included Vidash Dalmotra, Sunaksh Gupta, Sparsh Gupta, Abhiram Chauhan, Vishal Pagotra, Yashwardan, Parteek Raina and Piyush Raina.

National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) celebrated 30th birthday of architect of Indian Constitution Bharat Rattan Dr B R Ambedkar its Head Office in a befitting manner with patriotic fervor, amid strict observance of COVID-19 protocols. P K Satpathy, Director (Production) was the Chief Guest on the occasion while B.Sahoo, Executive Director (PC&S) was the Guest of Honour. B Hanumantha Rao President, B Jagadeeshwar Working President and B Pavan Kumar, General Secretary NMDC SC/ST Employees Welfare Association along with executive members and employees were also present on the occasion. At the outset, the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour and other dignitaries paid rich tributes to Dr B R Ambedkar.
Satpathy, while addressing the gathering, remembered contribution of Dr B R Ambedkar as a visionary, leader, teacher, lawyer, politician and social reformer. He said that Dr Ambedkar being a leader of the masses always expressed sense of humanity and brotherhood. He appealed to the gathering to follow few of his ideals and principles to make this world a better place.
Remembering Dr B R Ambedkar on his 130th birth Anniversary, J&K BJP Vice President Yudhvir Sethi applauded the significant role played by Architect of Indian Constitution in treading country towards becoming egalitarian society. While addressing a number of functions organised to celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti in various parts of city, the senior BJP leader said that role played by the legal laureate in carving out the law book of the country is praiseworthy and he shall be remembered for a long time.
Nations Development Association (NDA) paid rich tribute to founding Father of Indian Constitution, Bharat Rattan Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his 130th Birth Anniversary today at BSSK High School Kaluchak, Jammu. Chairman NDA, Sushil Singh Charak described Dr B R Ambedkar as symbol of knowledge who dedicated his life in working for upliftment of the weaker sections of the society. Principal BSSK High School Kaluchak, Jammu Anju Bakshi asked participants to follow the path of Dr B R Ambedkar.
Bhaujan Samaj Party (BSP) J&K UT organised a programme at its head office Satwari here to celebrate the Birth Anniversary of Bharat Rattan Dr B R Ambedkar, who worked day and night for upliftment of downtrodden besides fighting for emancipation of womenfolk and right to equality for all. MP and Coordinator Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Ram was the Chief Guest on the occasion, highlighted the contributions of Dr Ambedkar. He criticized central and state Govts for violating constitutional provisions by ignoring poor sections. President BSP J&K UT, S R Majotra,welcomed a number of new entrants, who joined BSP. He appealed to the general masses for strengthening the party if they want security of their future generation.

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Jammu Mahanagar organised a Shoba Yatra from Press Club Jammu to Ambedkar Chowk on occasion of 130th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar. ABVP Jammu Kashmir State Secretary Mukesh Manhas said that Dr B R Ambedkar gave a strong foundation to independent India so that nation could move forward and become socially & economically strong.

ABVP Jammu Kashmir State Joint Secretary Nandita Sharma said that Dr B R Ambedkar always advocated for national, economic and social development, by stressing on education, public hygiene, community health, residential facilities as basic amenities. Other present were Jammu Mahanagar Secretary Akshay, Akash Bhagat, Akshi Billowaria, Rishab Bali Jammu Mahanagar Joint Secretaries, Niharika, Sarveshwar, Rahul, Janvi, Chitvan, Gaurav, Ankit, Sahil and Abhishek.
