JAMMU: Tarun Chugh, National General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party and In-charge Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh & Telangana affairs, while speaking through video conferencing in a programme organised on death anniversary of Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee on June 23, 2021, said that real credit for fulfilling the unfulfilled dreams of Dr Mukherjee, who was supporter of unity and integrity, goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.The elected Member Parliament and Union Minister listened to his conscious and resigned from the post in protest and raised the slogan of ‘Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan and Ek Pradhan’ in whole of the country and sacrificed his life in Jammu & Kashmir demanding its implementation.Chugh said that on August 5, 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi revoked Article 370 and realised the dream of Dr Mukherjee by fully integrating the erstwhile State with Union of India and implementing the slogan of ‘Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan and Ek Pradhan’.The BJP National General Secretary said that now in the new environment, a new wave of development of Jammu and Kashmir has evoked and Jammu & Kashmir got a new impetus, much radical upheaval took place here and the pace of development was visible. He told that after the removal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, many new schemes, projects have been started by the Government of India and many decisions have been taken for the all-round development of residents here.Several important infrastructural projects were taken up in Jammu and Kashmir – many decisions have been taken to increase employment opportunities in connectivity, health, education sectors. Apart from extending the period of Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) for the region, Rs 39.67 crore has been allocated for Ladakh and Rs 460.33 crore for Jammu and Kashmir.Chugh said that as on date 890 central laws are applicable in Jammu and Kashmir whereas only 108 Parliamentary Acts were applicable earlier. New investment opportunities have increased rapidly and process of new investments has started. West Pakistani refugees, who were living in J&K for decades without citizenship and right to vote, have been given citizenship and domicile status in Jammu and Kashmir.Chugh said that after the removal of Article 370, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have started getting the benefits of Ayushman Bharat. POSCO implemented in entire Jammu and Kashmir, NHRC is now free to operate in the field, and SC/ST category will get reservation under the central law. For the first time, the Pahari community started getting reservation in jobs besides reservation for residents of IB (International Border) on the lines of LoC. Abrogation of Article 370 has created more equality, justice and new opportunities for people of J&K.The BJP National General Secretary excitedly said that Modi has done the great work of throwing out every canker nail that has been stuck in India’s chest adding that it is a matter of great pride for us that due to the Citizenship Amendment Act, many lives who were suffering persecution have been given peace and happiness. Dr Mukherjee’s soul will surely get satisfaction from these historic feats of Modi, he asserted.
