Akhnoor Club lifts Veterans Cricket Cup trophy

AKHNOOR: Final match of Veterans Cricket Cup which is organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor was played today at Akhnoor between Akhnoor Cricket Club and Ever Shine Cricket Club Satwari.
KD Bhagat DySP DAR was the Chief Guest of match and Councillors Rakesh Malhotra and Depesh Singh were Guest of Honors.
Batting first after winning the toss, Akhnoor Cricket Club scored 159 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs, Kavi was the top scorer with 61 runs while Deepak Sharma and Vicky contributed 41 and 34 runs respectively.
For Ever Shine, Bansi Lal stuck two wickets whereas Kulwant, Hardeep and Prithpal stuck one wicket each. In reply, Ever Shine managed to score only 123 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.
Prithpal Singh with (25), Hardeep (30) and Narinder Singh (15) were the main scorers.
For ACC, Vicky claimed three wickets, Ravi got two and Dada and Deepak bagged one wicket each.
Sushil Gupta and Dharminder Sharma were official umpires. Manav Mehta was scorer.
While addressing the gathering DySP KD Bhagat encouraged the players of both the teams. He appealed youth to focus on games and sports so that they should stay away from social evils and drugs especially.
He said being a local he feel proud to honor the veteran cricketers of both teams. He also appreciated role of Sham Singh Langeh and Singh Cricket Club for organizing such events in regular intervals.
Others present during ceremony include Rajinder Sharma, Jimmy Manni, Sonu Malhotra, Parshotam Pawar and Anil Sharma.
