AICF extends helping hand to J&K players



JAMMU: The All India Chess Federation (AICF) has decided to support those players, coaches and arbiters from across the country in need of financial help in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. The AICF under the aegis of FIDE has launched operation ‘Checkmate to COVID’ and has already raised a fund worth Rs 50 lakh. As per a AICF president, Dr Sanjay Kapoor the Federation shall extend a helping hand to those who are in a state of distress.
“The All J&K Chess Association (AJKCA), working on the directions of the AICF, has advised such individuals from the Union Territory to get themselves registered for financial aid and other corona virus related support and guidance,” said president of AJKCA, Atul Kumar Gupta.
