SRINAGAR: Bearing Sub-Zero temperature, 110 year-old Haji Rehmatullah Khan Thursday voted in the fifth phase of ongoing DDC and Panchayat By-Election in Surinder valley, becoming an inspiration for the villagers in this remote hamlet of Bandipora districtHolding a traditional firepot (Kangri) in his lap to keep himself warm, Khan walked without any assistance upto the Polling station in Surrinder Village of Arin DDC Constituency to execute his franchise.The recent snowfall, sub-zero temperature, slippery road surface and the old age couldn’t deter Khan’s sprit to vote. Casting his vote motivated other younger generation to come out despite chilling weather to cast their votes. The Constituency witnessed 32.25 percent votes till 11am.
