UDHAMPUR: The Senior Citizens Club (Registered) Udhampur is always at the forefront to aware the society about various measures required to be undertaken for the general cause of the society. As such the club has decided to aware the society about innovative ways of celebrating the coming Diwali in an eco-friendly manner by distribution of pamphlets. This was stated by the President of the club Mahadeep Singh Jamwal. The distribution of the pamphlets was symbolically launched by Ashok Kumar ADDC Udhampur. ADDC appreciated the efforts of the Club towards a genuine cause to aware the society about the most needed campaign to save the environment from pollution caused by bursting of the crackers. The club appealed to the society to celebrate Diwali with a new vision such as: Join hands this Diwali to clean the society and to encourage a positive atmosphere in the neighborhood. Take out little time this Diwali to meet those elders and kids who have no families? Exchange happiness with inmates of several old age homes, Divyang Ashrams and orphanages dotting the cities. Avoid spending money on crackers and donate the same to an orphanage or a home for the aged.
