JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party, Spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, on Saturday appealed to his party leaders belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category to devote time for the welfare and betterment of their community while undertaking routine political and social activities in the public. They should act as a bridge between the government and the SC community by educating them about various welfare schemes launched by Narendra Modi government during the last over six years and help them in availing the benefits of the same. Balbir Ram said this during a meeting with BJP SC Morcha Vice President Krishan Kumar Digra, Morcha Secretary Umesh Gabbar, Treasurer Hans Raj Loria, Morcha District President Manohar Lal Menia and BJP District Secretary Vivek Patyal.
Balbir told these leaders that numerous schemes have been launched with an objective of socio-economic upliftment of the poor families belonging to all sections of the society, including SCs and other categories. Many schemes are exclusively for SCs and the community need to be made aware of them. Balbir further told them that currently people in large numbers across the UT are getting registered for
Ayushman Health Insurance Golden Card Scheme, which provides health coverage up to rupees five lakh to every person enrolled under it and has come to be a big relief to the poor people who cannot get treatment in reputed and costly hospitals. Let’s apprise our community about it and help
the poor, uneducated people in remote and far flung areas in getting themselves registered under this scheme.
The poor and homeless people should be helped to avail benefit under PM Awas Yojna, he told them. The government jobs are limited so every person cannot be provided employment. In such a situation, the educated youth should not sit idle at home but come forward to avail the financial assistance in the form of loan and start own unit to earn livelihood, he said and added that we need to motivate and guide them in this regard.
Krishan Kumar Digra assured to work for the community and identify the people who should be helped in getting the benefits of government schemes.
