JAMMU: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) produced charge-sheet against Fayaz Ahmad, the then Naib Tehsildar Sopore, in the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Baramulla in a case registered vide FIR No 01/2019, under Section 5(1) (d) read with 5(2) of JK PC Act Svt. 2006 and 4 (A) Amendment Act 2014 of Police Station ACB.As per an official spokesperson, a case was registered on basis of a written complaint by complainant, where in it was stated that that he purchased 14 marlas of land at Noorbagh Sopore in 2009 and get the sale-deed registered by Sub-Registrar Sopore but aforesaid land was not transferred to his name. He approached concerned Naib Tehsildar namely Fayaz Ahmad and requested him several times to get the land transferred to his name, but the officer demanded a bribe of Rs 12,000 for transferring the land. Subsequently, the complainant approached ACB for legal action. A successful trap was laid and accused was caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 12,000 as illegal gratification from complainant. The accused was arrested on spot and a case vide FIR No 01/2019, under Section 5(1) (d) read with 5(2) of JK PC Act Svt. 2006 and 4 (A) Amendment Act 2014 was registered at Police Station ACB, he said, adding that next date of hearing has been fixed on March 27, 2021.
